The Sitter (2025)
Installed at HfBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg, Germany.
The Sitter transforms Inspiration (XYZ Books, 2025) into a physical installation of paper, photographic prints, nails, and furniture. It features replicas of the chairs and couches used during photo sessions with models, transforming them into tiny microcosms of objectification. Through self-portraiture and photographs of models, Matilde Søes Rasmussen recreates the poses of the historical artist’s muse Audrey Munson. The work draws on Rasmussens archive of over 1000 analog darkroom prints made for the book.
